Whiplash Injuries
Have you suffered a whiplash injury in a motor vehicle accident? If so you should seek medical advice as soon as possible. this would normally be from your doctor, or if it’s more serious, maybe the Accident and Emergency department of your local Hospital.
If a personal injury claim is to be made arising from a motor vehicle accident the matter must be report to both the police and the relevant CTP insurer ASAP. Please note, time limits apply to lodging such reports and if these are not met the claim may be rejected.
As part of your inury claim assessment, the medical record of your injury will be used. It is therefore important that your injury is documented as soon as possible after you are aware of any symptoms. Thereafter it is a good idea to keep a diary of the 'day to day' events outlining how the injury restricts your activities and what treatment was obtained and from where. The more information and documentation you can supply to support the claim the better.
